DIGITAL ECOSYSTEMS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Abstract

Introduction. The digital transformation of the economy is significantly changing approaches to project activities. Digital ecosystems are becoming an important tool for improving project management efficiency by integrating digital platforms, cloud services, analytics systems, and automation tools into a unified management environment. At the same time, digitalization creates new challenges related to cybersecurity, technical risks, and the need to develop employees’ digital competencies.

Purpose. The purpose of the article is to investigate the role of digital ecosystems in the development of modern project management, identify their advantages and risks, and substantiate approaches to improving project management efficiency in the context of digital transformation.

Materials and Methods. The research is based on scientific publications devoted to digitalization, digital ecosystems, project management, and business process transformation. The study employs methods of theoretical generalization, systematization, comparative analysis, tabular presentation, and logical synthesis.

Results. The study proves that digital ecosystems contribute to the integration of management processes, improve decision-making efficiency, enhance team coordination, and optimize resource utilization. The key components of digital ecosystems are identified, including project management platforms, cloud technologies, ERP and CRM systems, digital analytics, business process automation tools, and artificial intelligence technologies. Their implementation increases project transparency, supports document workflow automation, and facilitates remote and hybrid work models. The main risks of digitalization are systematized, including cyber threats, technical failures, dependence on digital infrastructure, information overload, and insufficient digital competencies of personnel.

Prospects. Future research should focus on practical mechanisms for integrating digital ecosystems into organizational management systems, assessing the effectiveness of artificial intelligence and predictive analytics in project management, and studying the impact of digitalization on human capital development, digital leadership, and organizational competitiveness.
