ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AS A TOOL OF LEGAL COMMUNICATION: LINGUISTIC AND LEGAL ASPECT

Abstract

Introduction. The digitalization of legal practice and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) are leading to the emergence of new forms of creation and communication of legal texts, affecting the lexical, stylistic, and communicative levels of legal language. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of legal language transformation under the influence of AI, to assess the advantages and risks of AI-generated legal documents, and to develop recommendations for maintaining accuracy, stylistic correctness, and ethical standards. The object of the study is the process of creation and interpretation of legal texts, while the subject is the impact of AI on legal language and communication.

The study employs realistic methods: case analysis of practical examples (court decisions, recommendations of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Justice, automated consultations, chatbots), comparative analysis of texts generated by AI and by human lawyers, and a systemic approach to integrate linguistic, legal, and ethical aspects. Modern methods of AI use for drafting claims, contracts, analytical reports, and consultations were analyzed, and the impact on terminology accuracy, stylistic adequacy, and risks of language simplification was assessed.

The results show that AI increases the productivity of lawyers, the speed of document processing, and access to legal information, while simultaneously creating risks of reduced legal precision, incorrect use of terminology, and violations of ethical norms. Ukrainian practice, including case No. 240/14153/24 of the Supreme Court of Ukraine [1] and recommendations for responsible AI use, confirms the necessity of combining technology with human supervision. The study substantiates a comprehensive approach to AI application in legal practice, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and reliability of legal documents in the digital era. Further research could focus on quantitative analysis of AI-generated texts in various branches of law.
