Abstract

Introduction. In recent years, video content has become an integral part of the modern digital environment for the average consumer and undoubtedly exerts a significant influence on purchasing behavior. It has been proven that various forms of video content—such as commercials, product reviews, blogs, and educational videos—affect consumers’ purchase decisions. Video conveys emotions and demonstrates product functionality, thereby building trust through visual perception and accelerating the decision-making process. In the era of social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, video content has become a key marketing tool shaping consumer preferences and brand loyalty. Therefore, marketing increasingly focuses on analyzing various aspects of video perception, including its impact on attention, memory, and emotional responses. Understanding these mechanisms enables companies to optimize promotion strategies and enhance audience engagement, making this topic particularly relevant for marketers and business professionals.

Purpose. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively examine the impact of video content as a digital marketing tool on the formation and transformation of consumer behavior in the context of evolving online communications. The article aims to analyze the characteristics of video perception on social media platforms (particularly YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok), identify the psychological mechanisms underlying the emotional influence of audiovisual content on consumers, and assess its role in the purchase decision-making process.

Materials and methods. The empirical basis of the study includes scientific publications in digital marketing, analytical reports of international marketing agencies, and statistical data from YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. General scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, comparison, and theoretical generalization were applied. The research involved content analysis of video materials across different formats and topics. To evaluate consumer behavioral responses, a survey method and engagement metrics analysis (views, likes, comments, CTR) were employed. The results were processed using elements of statistical analysis and data interpretation.

Results. The study examined such parameters as audience engagement level, brand trust, brand awareness, purchase intention, and consumer loyalty. The article systematizes contemporary scientific approaches to video marketing analysis and substantiates its effectiveness as a component of the company’s integrated marketing communications.

The research findings are aimed at developing practical recommendations for the use of video content to enhance company competitiveness and optimize communication strategies in the digital environment.

Discussion. Future research perspectives regarding the impact of video content on consumer behavior are associated with an in-depth analysis of personalized recommendation algorithms and their influence on shaping consumer preferences in the digital environment. Particular attention should be paid to studying the mechanisms of algorithmic feeds on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, which largely determine content visibility and audience engagement levels.

Further scientific research may focus on neuromarketing aspects of video perception, including the analysis of cognitive and emotional responses depending on content duration, format, and visual dynamics. It is also promising to examine the impact of short-form video content on the speed of purchase decision-making and the formation of impulsive demand.
