MACROECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE ECONOMY OF UKRAINE TO ENSURING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT BASED ON THE ADAPTED DESI INDEX

Abstract

Introduction. In the context of implementing the principles of sustainable development, the digital transformation of the economy is of strategic importance, as it contributes to improving the quality of life of the population, expanding access to services and ensuring economic sustainability.

The level of digital development of the country can be determined using the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI), developed by the European Commission. Its structure includes indicators of Internet connectivity, digital skills of the population, integration of digital technologies into business and the development of electronic public services. For Ukraine, the application of DESI approaches is important in the context of European integration and the formation of a modern digital infrastructure capable of ensuring sustainable economic development.

Purpose. The main purpose of this article is to improve the approach to assessing the level of digital development of Ukraine based on the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) by adapting its structure and indicators to the existing information base.

Materials and methods. The materials of the study are the works of domestic authors who conduct scientific and practical research in the field of digital transformation of the Ukrainian economy.

The research used methods of analysis and synthesis, statistical methods of data processing, methods of indicator aggregation, as well as elements of systemic and structural approaches.

Results. The paper developed an adapted methodology for calculating the DESI index for Ukraine, which involves the use of proxy indicators, adjusting the weighting coefficients of individual components and taking into account the specifics of the national statistical base.

The scientific novelty of the work lies in substantiating the feasibility of using the DESI index to analyze the digital development of Ukraine in conditions of limited statistical information.

Prospects: the possibility of applying the proposed approach for analytical research and making management decisions in the field of digital transformation to ensure the sustainable development of Ukraine.
