RELOCATED BUSINESS IN UKRAINE: FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITIES, RISKS, AND THE ROLE OF DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS

Abstract

Introduction. The article examines the functioning of relocated businesses in Ukraine under martial law, characterized by a high level of economic uncertainty, disruption of production and logistics chains, and increasing financial and security-related risks. In these conditions, business relocation becomes a comprehensive anti-crisis mechanism aimed at preserving production potential, maintaining business continuity, and adapting enterprises to a transformed economic environment. Financial support mechanisms and digital communications play a particularly important role, forming a new model of enterprise functioning.

Purpose. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the specific features of relocated business functioning in Ukraine and to determine the role of financial mechanisms and digital communications in ensuring its adaptation, resilience, and development under martial law conditions.

Materials and Methods. The methodological basis of the study includes a systems approach, structural-logical and comparative analysis, generalization, and synthesis methods. The research uses analytical data on the financial aspects of enterprise relocation, information on state business support programs, as well as scientific publications on financial management, crisis management, and digital transformation. The application of these methods made it possible to systematize financial, organizational, and digital factors of adaptation of relocated businesses and assess their interrelationship.

Results. The study found that business relocation is accompanied by significant financial transformations, including increased relocation costs, changes in cost structure, reduced liquidity, and higher financial risks. It was determined that a key condition for enterprise adaptation is the diversification of financing sources, including state support, grant programs, bank lending, and investment capital. Digital communications were proven to be a systemic factor contributing to business continuity by improving management efficiency, accelerating information exchange, and enhancing decision-making quality. The main risks of relocation were systematized, including financial, personnel, logistical, market, and cyber risks, whose combined impact creates a high level of uncertainty. It was substantiated that the combination of financial management, crisis management, and digital transformation generates a synergistic effect that enhances the adaptive capacity and sustainability of relocated enterprises.

Prospects. Further research should focus on a deeper analysis of the effectiveness of state financial instruments supporting relocated businesses, the assessment of digital technologies’ impact on improving competitiveness, and the development of adaptive enterprise management models under prolonged economic and security instability.
