Introduction. In the context of the global economic transformation, digitalization has become one of the key drivers shaping international markets, influencing countries’ competitiveness, business efficiency, and integration into the global economic system. At the same time, there is a growing need for scientifically grounded methods to assess the level of economic digitalization that adequately reflect the scale and depth of digital transformations.
Purpose. The purpose of the article is to analyze and systematize modern methods for assessing the level of economic digitalization of international markets, as well as to identify their advantages, limitations, and possibilities for practical application in international economic research.
Materials and methods. The study employs methods of analysis and synthesis, comparative analysis, generalization, and econometric approaches. The information base includes analytical reports of international organizations such as the OECD, World Bank, ITU, World Economic Forum, and the European Commission, as well as academic studies in the field of the digital economy.
Results. Global, regional, and sectoral digitalization indices, including the Digital Economy and Society Index, Network Readiness Index, ICT Development Index, and Global Cybersecurity Index, are analyzed. The results show that most existing methodologies focus primarily on infrastructure and technological indicators, while economic, social, and security dimensions of digital transformation remain insufficiently considered. The relevance of a comprehensive approach to assessing the digitalization of international markets is substantiated.
Prospects. Further research should focus on developing integrated assessment models that combine economic, institutional, social, and technological indicators, taking into account the specific features of international market development.
