EDUCATION OF «TROUBLED TEENS»: PECULIARITIES OF INDIVIDUAL PEDAGOGICAL ASSISTANCE

Abstract

The article identifies the causes of the problem of «troubled teens», in particular, the existence of excessive freedom for children and youth in modern society; changing the family model; limiting the time for teenagers to communicate with their parents at home; excessive electronic communication, etc. It is emphasized that the term «troubled teens» is not monosemantic, but allows different interpretations and depends on the social and scientific context. The paper analyzes the main issues of children’s rights protection, defined by the Law of the Federal Republic of Germany «On Support of Children and Youth» (2021). It is established that the Law gives more powers to local authorities on preventive work on their territory. In particular, the content of preventive work is determined by a system of preventive measures aimed at preventing maladapted behavior of adolescents. The article describes types of information support for parents of difficult adolescents in Switzerland, which is implemented through family portals, media, educational and consulting services, social funds. It outlines the main directions of work of educational and consulting services and companies in Germany accompanying difficult teenagers and young people in need of support in everyday life. The purpose and main mission of the Cooperative Adventure Projects Institute for outdoor team training and experiential education, which creates and opens new life perspectives for difficult adolescents through crisis measures and experimental therapy projects. The methods of work used by CAP-Institute in work with children and youth are determined as team building, experimental therapy, intensive care. It was found that individual pedagogical proposals consist of projects that partially complement each other: the project of pedagogical cleansing; tourist project; location project; abroad project. It is concluded that individual pedagogical assistance with the use of experimental pedagogical and therapeutic methods gives children and young people the opportunity to discover a new stage in their self-development.
